Auto OS is an infotainment operating system that makes navigation convenient and applications easy to use by connecting your smartphone to your vehicle. The idea originated from the difficultly of using a variety of different infotainment operating systems from auto and mobile manufacturers. The pros and cons of each operating system were apparent toward finding the best navigation system users may benefit when using their vehicles. The goal is to make the user’s trips more enjoyable without being distracted with infotainment issues. Profiles/Home, Audio, Phone, Navigation, and Settings are the breakdowns of Auto OS.
Auto OS is created with user preference in mind. The core navigation of the operating system was designed for maximum efficiency and awareness. You can create shortcuts on the main menu if you want easy access to playlists, locations, and contacts. People don’t usually prefer one layout, so you can rearrange the position of icons, navigation bar, and add a custom theme to personalize your view.
Auto OS becomes your ultimate audio collection. There is no need to dig through multiple audio streaming applications to play a playlist. All playlists are compiled into one place for easy access to entertainment. Interactions are implemented with a simple hold and swipe gesture for adjustments to access content with fewer distractions.
Verbal communication is one of the most important tools when operating a vehicle. Phone functionalities are integrated into Auto OS simple submenu. The ability to access voicemail, make a phone call, and look into contacts is much easier. Text functionalities are removed to prevent further distractions behind the wheel. Users can simplify the process further by creating one-touch shortcuts to connect instantly with friends and family.
Navigation is a powerful tool for many users and part of the Auto OS foundation. The functionalities were streamlined by asking these fundamental questions: What does a user search for in navigation? When does a user use navigation? The answers are simplified by exploring nearby, searching far away, and returning to your favorite spots. The listings are detailed, giving users an accurate description, and direction to reach their destination without hiccups.
Personalization at the user’s fingertips. There is no need to go into settings for each application. Auto OS compiles user settings for audio, phone, and navigation under one section. When a new option is picked, the user profile automatically saves those settings to be that particular preference for future uses.
